360º Immersive Video is a digital recording where a view in every direction is captured at the same time, shot using an omnidirectional camera or a collection of cameras, allowing playback on normal flat display or fully immersive stereoscopic; with the viewer in control of the viewing direction.

True 360º video is always interactive and can be a fully immersive experience utilizing pre-filmed real-world video content, which is controlled by the viewer.  It differs from virtual reality in two significant ways: (1) it can be utilized by normal flat displays such as computer monitors, tablets & mobile devices as well as through headsets for a fully immersive experience like VR, (2) it is real-world video content instead of an artificial environment generated by developers. Employing specialized 3D camera systems and spatial scanning sensors that combine to capture high resolution images and generating a polygonal mesh. The polygonal mesh is used to create a dynamic 3D model overlay that allows the video to be explored by the user online and in a fully immersive virtual reality.
