Pitches are a concise presentation of an idea to obtain a contract or other business.

The single most important element in every pitch is the person(s) pitching. The audience, whether venture capitalists, industry executives or an organization’s leaders, gauge the idea based on the judgements they make about the presenter(s).  Pattern matching is firmly hardwired into human psychology; which is why we all rush to place others into neat little categories or stereotypes within the first moments of interaction. Research suggesting categorization occurs in under half a second and lasting judgements occur under 30minutes.  The characteristics the audience of a pitch are looking for are: integrity, passion, experience, knowledge, skill, leadership, commitment, vision, realism, and coachability.
